\u00a0The 12th Sheraton Golf Classics is a big boost for the Fijian economy as it is pumping in more than $2 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n
2017 Fiji International winner Jason Norris said the event brings in so many people and not only top golfers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThis event brings more than 240 players, families and friends,\u201d Norris said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s quiet a huge number and then you have wives, girlfriends, families, kids and friends so it\u2019s very big for Tourism Fiji, which is great.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cPlayers go back and they talk about it. Natadola golf course is one of the best in the world so you know they talk about it and that encourages others to come over.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Pacific Golf Management director Richard Ellis said currently only two golf courses were used.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cHopefully sometime in future they might build another golf course in Fiji to be up to international standard, and then we can increase the size of the tournament.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ellis also said the event contributes more than $2 million in the Fijian economy\u00a0<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, results from the Red team that consisted of Jamie Hook (66), James Gordon (67), Fijian top pro Tomasi Tuivuna (68), Barron Hussein (68), Steven Conran (69) and James Betis and Lisa Jean (71) included their scores yesterday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Local top amateur Abid Hussein (66), Mali Nitulesh (71), Jonah Metuangaor (73) and James Krishna (74).\u00a0<\/p>\n
