CLOQUET, Minn. \u2013 The Macalester College men’s tennis team kicked off the 2025-26 season with a non-conference dual against UW-Superior Saturday afternoon at Cloquet High School. The Scots battled but came up just short, 4-3.<\/p>\n
Macalester’s tandem of first year Derek Chen<\/a> (South Kingstown, R.I.\/Moses Brown School) and sophomore Zach Dajani<\/a> (Singapore\/Singapore American School) won their match at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, but the Yellowjackets won the other two doubles matches to take the doubles point. In singles, Chen was victorious at No. 3 singles, 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 10-7, senior Jordan Doi<\/a> (Mililani, Hawaii\/Mililani) won at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-2, and first year Charles Flaman<\/a> (Calgary, Alberta\/Rundle College) earned the win at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-2. But the fourth point proved to be elusive for Macalester. The clinching match came at No. 6 singles, where sophomore Beckett Annes<\/a> (Palo Alto, Calif.\/Palo Alto) fell to Keanu Lin, 7-5, 3-6, 10-6.<\/p>\n The Scots will resume its schedule in the spring.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
