Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight champion Charles Oliveira scored yet another highlight-reel finish in the main event of UFC Rio<\/a> last night (Sat., Oct. 11, 2025) when he tapped Mateusz Gamrot in the second round with a rear-naked choke inside Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.<\/p>\n It didn\u2019t take long for the former Featherweight king to respond \u2014 and he sounds more than interested to scrap.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m interested,\u201d Holloway said on a Kick live stream<\/a>. \u201cWhy wouldn\u2019t I be? We heard the callout. I\u2019m here. Only time will tell now \u2026 A fight at the White House? That\u2019s such a long wait. I don\u2019t know if I want to wait that long, but we\u2019ll see what happens. Never say never.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been talking about this fight. Me and him have a history. He\u2019s blaming it on some type of injury. I guess we get to figure it out now,\u201d Holloway added. \u201cMy hand is getting better<\/a>; we\u2019re just waiting to get cleared.\u201d<\/p>\n The two UFC legends and future Hall of Famers first met back in 2015 at UFC Saskatoon<\/a>, which marked both men\u2019s first UFC main event. That fight ended abruptly in less than two minutes after Oliveira suffered a freak esophageal injury<\/a>, leaving fans with one of the most unsatisfying conclusions in UFC history.<\/p>\n Since then, both have taken drastically different career paths. Oliveira moved up to Lightweight a few years later, went on an incredible run, and captured the UFC Lightweight title<\/a>, while Holloway dominated at Featherweight, winning and defending the 145-pound belt three times.<\/p>\n Now, a decade later, both fighters are back at Lightweight \u2014 and both are absolute Bad Motherf\u2014kers.<\/p>\n
