The best you\u2019re likely to get is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/2022\/11\/12\/23454806\/watch-full-fight-video-highlights-frankie-edgar-retire-ufc-281-results-espn-ppv-gutierrez-knockout\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a beatdown<\/a> from an up-and-coming name and maybe a quick question from Joe Rogan in the cage asking if you\u2019re done.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">But for Jose Aldo, the promotion finally did right by one of its legends by letting the former two-time featherweight champion do one final walk into the cage at UFC Rio. He got to lay his gloves down on the canvas and celebrate his prolific career with family in tow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Aldo officially retired following a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/2025\/5\/11\/24427826\/scorecards-aiemann-zahabi-edges-jose-aldo-in-aging-legends-ufc-315-retirement-fight\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">disappointing decision loss<\/a> to Aiemann Zahabi at UFC 315 in Montreal\u2014 Jose\u2019s second defeat in a row and third in five fights. The former champ was exhausted from a tough battle and crushing decision loss, and he really did seem defeated in every way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">This opportunity at UFC Rio allowed \u201cScarface\u201d to exit on a more triumphant note, with his appreciative Brazilian fans getting to see him as the center of attention one more time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Let\u2019s hope the UFC decides to do this more in the future.
