Diane Keaton was taken away from her Los Angeles home by ambulance on Saturday, and dispatch audio to the fire department revealed there was a \u201cperson down.\u201d<\/p>\n
In audio from the call obtained by TMZ, the dispatcher said, \u201cRescue 19, person down\u201d before revealing the actress\u2019 address.<\/p>\n
The Los Angeles Fire Department went to the \u201cAnnie Hall\u201d actress\u2019 home at 8:08 a.m. ET on Saturday and one person was take to a local hospital, according to TMZ. Insiders revealed that person was Keaton.<\/p>\n
It was later confirmed that the legendary \u201cGodfather\u201d actress passed away at the age of 79 in California. However, a cause of death has not been revealed.<\/p>\n
Her rep didn\u2019t immediately respond to Page Six\u2019s request for comment on the news, but a family spokesperson told People that her \u201cloved ones have asked for privacy.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u201cFamily Stone\u201d star \u2014 who never married but had high-profile romances with Woody Allen, Al Pacino and Warren Beatty \u2014 became a mother in 1996 and 2001, respectively, when she adopted daughter Dexter, now 29, and son Duke, now 25.<\/p>\n
\u201cMotherhood was not an urge I couldn\u2019t resist, it was more like a thought I\u2019d been thinking for a very long time. So I plunged in,\u201d she explained to Ladies\u2019 Home Journal in 2008 of becoming a single mother in her 50s.<\/p>\n
Keaton looked happy in her final Instagram photo. However, a friend of the actress told People \u201cshe declined very suddenly, which was heartbreaking for everyone who loved her.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u201cSomething\u2019s Gotta Give\u201d star\u2019s rapid decline was \u201cunexpected,\u201d the friend added.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn her final months, she was surrounded only by her closest family, who chose to keep things very private. Even longtime friends weren\u2019t fully aware of what was happening.\u201d<\/p>\n
Friends started becoming more aware of the situation after the Oscar winner listed her \u201cdream home\u201d in Los Angeles for $29 million, despite previously saying she planned to remain there permanently, People reported.<\/p>\n
A source also told the outlet Keaton was often seen walking her dog, Reggie, around her Brentwood neighborhood, but was not spotted for the past couple of months.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe loved her neighborhood,\u201d the source said. \u201cUp until just a few months ago, she\u2019d walk her dog every day. She was usually dressed the same, with a hat and her signature sunglasses regardless of the weather.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was always very nice, funny and chatty,\u201d the source continued. \u201cShe\u2019d talk to her dog like he was a person. She was eccentric and had this old-school Hollywood aura. She was very, very special.\u201d<\/p>\n
