Danika Mason has topped off a relaxing European holiday by getting engaged to her football star beau, Liam Knight.<\/p>\n

The Today sport presenter told her co-hosts the pair were enjoying a day trip in beautiful Sardinia, Italy, when Knight got down on one knee and surprised her.<\/p>\n

“It was on the beach here in Sardinia, he did so well,” the 34-year-old smiled.<\/p>\n

Danika joked the ring is a little too big, so to prevent losing it – she looks like she’s “flipping the bird” when she shows it to people on her middle finger.<\/p>\n

But Liam shared more detail on the lead up to the special moment.<\/p>\n

“I actually can’t remember what I said, I was pretty nervous, to be honest,” the 30-year-old admitted.<\/p>\n

“I got on the knee and just blurted out what came to mind, I didn’t have a plan but I’m glad it’s done and we can enjoy our holiday.<\/p>\n

“I can stop stressing about her finding the ring in the bag.”\ufeff<\/p>\n
