Australian TV personality Skye Wheatley has opened up about her shock split from partner Lachlan Waugh after eight years together.<\/p>\n

The reality star, 31, said the couple reached “breaking point” while raising their two young sons, causing them to hit pause on their relationship.<\/p>\n

In an emotional episode on Nova podcast Skye & Callum<\/a>, titled ‘The Real Truth About My Marriage Ending’,<\/a> Skye addressed the breakup rumours and the “toxic cycle” that followed.<\/p>\n

“I feel like I’ve put this off,” Skye told co-host and Love Island Australia<\/a> star Callum Hole<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“You heard it here first, there has been a break up,” she announced.<\/p>\n

The pair who are not married have gone through “little breaks” in the past, but Skye revealed this is the longest they’ve been ‘separated’. \ufeff<\/p>\n

The star said the stress of raising two young sons Forest 6, and Bear, 4, a full house renovation and their own businesses had put a toll on their relationship.<\/p>\n

“There’s been a lot on both our plates, we’re both stressed with work, I think it’s very hard to understand each other sometimes.”<\/p>\n

So Skye made the call to “put the breaks” on their relationship, but the stress from the break became too much. \ufeff<\/p>\n

“It consumed me to the point where I was like, I cannot even move or I don’t want to get out of bed,” she admitted during the podcast episode.\ufeff<\/p>\n

“We did get super close there to ending it for real and calling it quits.”<\/p>\n

While Skye and Callum still live under the same roof, she admitted they only speak when they need to talk about the kids, which \ufeffmakes it hard.<\/p>\n

And despite the couple having ‘breaks’ in the past, it all feels “very real” for the star who admitted that \ufeffat the moment it “feels like a toxic cycle now”.<\/p>\n

“We’re just going around in circles and \ufeffnot actually coming to a point of fixing anything,” she said.<\/p>\n

But once things aren’t so “chaotic and hectic” Skye revealed that she would want to give their relationship another go.<\/p>\n

For now, they plan to focus on their children, finishing their house and getting back to routine.<\/p>\n

Skye’s rise to fame<\/p>\n

\ufeffSkye made her reality television debut on Big Brother Australia in 2014. Since, she’s become one of Australia’s most well-known lifestyle influencers with over a million social media followers across her channels.<\/p>\n

In 2024, Skye returned to TV screens to compete on Network Ten’s \ufeffI’m a Celebrity\u2026 Get Me Out of Here! After four weeks in the jungle Skye won the public vote, the competition and $100,000 for her chosen charity Bully Zero.<\/p>\n

It was there that she met\ufeff co-star and former Love Island Australia contestant Callum Hole. The pair struck up an instant friendship and now together host their podcast.<\/p>\n
