Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures<\/a> revealed on Friday the first teaser promotional video for the television anime<\/a> of storywriter Nekoko<\/a> and illustrator NAJI yanagida<\/a>‘s Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling<\/a> (Tensei Shitara Dragon no Tamago Datta: Saiky\u014d Igai Mezasanee<\/a>) light novel series. The company also revealed the show’s first key visual, main staff, and 2026 debut.<\/p>\n

Y\u016bta Takamura<\/a> (chief director for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable<\/a>, episode director for Chihayafuru<\/a>) is directing the anime at GA-CREW<\/a> and Felix Film<\/a>. Nobuyoshi Arai<\/a> (episode director for Banana Fish<\/a>, Vinland Saga (TV 2)<\/a>, Yuri!!! on Ice<\/a>) is the assistant director and Tatsuhiko Urahata<\/a> (Hi Score Girl<\/a>, Haganai<\/a>, Baki Hanma<\/a>) is overseeing the series scripts. Hiroyasu Oda<\/a> is the monster designer, and Masahito Onoda<\/a> is the character designer. K\u014d \u014ctani<\/a> (Shakugan no Shana<\/a>, Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start With Magical Tools<\/a>) is composing the music at IMAGINE<\/a>, and Tsuyoshi Takahashi<\/a> is the sound director.<\/p>\n

Seven Seas Entertainment<\/a> is releasing<\/a> both the light novel series and RIO<\/a>‘s manga adaptation in English, and it describes the story:\n<\/p>\n

In a world full of dangerous monsters, our unnamed protagonist finds himself reborn at the very bottom of the food chain as an immobile, powerless egg. Even just hatching will require leveling up by fighting monsters\u2013the same monsters who’d love to eat him as a snack. But with the help of the mysterious voice in his head, he’s determined to grow into the most powerful creature in the world!<\/p>\n

Nekoko began serializing<\/a> the story on the Sh\u014dsetsuka ni Nar\u014d website in August 2015, and the last update was in November 2023. Earth Star Entertainment<\/a> began publishing the story in print with art by NAJI yanagida in December 2015, and published 12 volumes. Square Enix<\/a> took over publishing of the novel series, and has published volumes 13-16. <\/p>\n

RIO launched<\/a> the manga adaptation in Comic Earth Star<\/a> in May 2017. Earth Star Entertainment has so far published eight volumes.<\/p>\n
