Dezeen Showroom In Situ:<\/a> for the next instalment of our In Situ series, we round up real-world workplaces<\/a> furnished with products<\/a> previously published on our Showroom section<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This iteration features offices from around the world, incorporating seating and space-dividing systems from international brands of varying scales and specialisations.<\/p>\n

The examples include a palazzo-turned-office in Italy<\/a> where cocooning task chairs sit in glass<\/a>-walled meeting rooms and an open-air courtyard<\/a> in Brussels<\/a> where metal<\/a> furniture provides workers a break away from their desks.<\/p>\n

Week-End outdoor furniture by Petite Friture in Befimmo headquarters, Belgium<\/a><\/p>\n

French design brand Petite Friture<\/a>‘s metal Week-End outdoor furniture<\/a> populates an office building courtyard in Brussels, creating outdoor breakout areas surrounded by greenery.<\/p>\n

The Arts 56 building<\/a> in the Belgian capital was constructed in 1968 in the Brutalist style and was renovated in 2021 by creative agency NCBHAM<\/a>. Its glass and concrete structure surrounds the central courtyard, which features a gravel floor, trees and flower beds.<\/p>\n

Petite Friture’s slatted garden chairs, armchairs, high stools and tables in burgundy, dark blue and white colours were chosen to delineate areas for eating, informal meetings and taking breaks in the open air.<\/p>\n

“The Week-End collection completes the graphic and geometric scheme,” said Petite Friture. “The choice of pieces from the Week-End collection has once again made it possible to delimit several spaces and allow for different uses.”<\/p>\n

Kriskadecor ceiling installations by Kriskadecor in LOOM La C\u00e9lula co-working space, Spain<\/a><\/p>\n

Tens of thousands of teardrop-shaped aluminium links form Kriskadecor<\/a>‘s ceiling installations<\/a>, which are used to line glass-walled meeting areas in this open-plan office in Madrid.<\/p>\n

Real estate company LOOM owns and manages several office spaces in locations across Spain and Portugal. These include Castellana 85<\/a> in Madrid, which was designed by local architecture studio B<\/a>allarin Mendoza<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The firm chose Kriskadecor’s chains \u2013 rendered in an ombre pastel colourway \u2013 for how they allow natural light to filter through the space.<\/p>\n

“The aluminium chains, chosen for their functionality and aesthetics, envelop the glass-walled meeting rooms with soft colour gradients that evoke the hues of spring,” said Kriskadecor.<\/p>\n

“Aluminium chains not only preserve transparency and visibility between different working areas, but also allow natural light to flow through, enhancing the sense of openness and connection with the outdoors.”<\/p>\n

Miura stool by Plank in Lendhafen, Austria<\/a><\/p>\n

German designer\u00a0Konstantin Grcic<\/a> worked with Italian design brand\u00a0Plank<\/a> to create the Miura stool<\/a>, which provides places to perch in this mixed-use workspace in Graz, Austria.<\/p>\n

Designed by local interdisciplinary studio WG3, Lendhafen<\/a> is a flexible office space for the local business community. It hosts a myriad of events that can be attended by up to 100 people, including workshops, exhibitions, corporate presentations and lectures.<\/p>\n

The stools are made from reinforced polypropylene and shaped by employing a plastic injection moulding method, making them durable and light in order to facilitate<\/p>\n

“Changing settings within a very short time requires furniture able to meet these demands,” Matthias Gumhalter, one of the principal Architects of Studio WG3, told Dezeen. “Plank’s Miura stools and tables, designed by Konstantin Grcic, offer highly functional support and withstand intensive use.”<\/p>\n

Icon chair by Mara in W-Executive Offices, Italy<\/a><\/p>\n

Italian furniture brand Mara<\/a>‘s Icon chair<\/a> seats users within glass box meeting rooms inside Milan’s historic Palazzo Bocconi.<\/p>\n

The building was completed at the beginning of the 1900s, and its interiors are decorated with ornate stuccoes, detailed frescoed ceilings and ornamented mirrors. Once the primary residence of its patron, Milanese entrepreneur Ferdinando Bocconi, it is now used as a workplace for recruitment agency W-Executive<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Enclosed contemporary meeting areas contrast with the interiors’ elaborate decoration. Inside the glass boxes are Icon chairs \u2013 designed by Marcello Ziliani for Mara \u2013 upholstered in a dark blue fabric to match the room’s ceilings and back walls.<\/p>\n

“The choice of furniture was carefully considered, to harmonise the architecture and enhance functionality,” said Pietro Valdes, CEO of W Executive.<\/p>\n
