{"id":211745,"date":"2025-10-14T03:15:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T03:15:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/211745\/"},"modified":"2025-10-14T03:15:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T03:15:09","slug":"thor-star-tessa-thompson-says-chris-hemsworth-is-baby-with-muscles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/211745\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Thor&#8217; Star Tessa Thompson Says Chris Hemsworth Is &#8216;Baby With Muscles&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/thor\/\" id=\"auto-tag_thor\" data-tag=\"thor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thor<\/a>\u201d star <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/tessa-thompson\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tessa-thompson\" data-tag=\"tessa-thompson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tessa Thompson<\/a> charmed a packed audience at a <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/bfi-london-film-festival\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bfi-london-film-festival\" data-tag=\"bfi-london-film-festival\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BFI London Film Festival<\/a> screen talk on Monday, reflecting on her varied career from Marvel blockbusters to intimate indie dramas, including her latest project \u201cHedda,\u201d which premiered at the festival.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe actor was particularly effusive about her \u201cThor\u201d experience, describing director Taika Waititi as \u201ca huge infant, just, he\u2019s like an infant with a bank account.\u201d Thompson praised Waititi\u2019s childlike approach to filmmaking, noting \u201cit\u2019s terrifying\u201d and \u201che should be stopped,\u201d in the most affectionate way possible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tShe had equally glowing words for co-star <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/chris-hemsworth\/\" id=\"auto-tag_chris-hemsworth\" data-tag=\"chris-hemsworth\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chris Hemsworth<\/a>, calling him \u201ca baby with muscles, a very big infant\u201d who has \u201cno inhibition\u201d and \u201cwill just do anything you know, to get the laugh and to discover, so it\u2019s a pleasure to work with him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s so goofy making those movies sometimes,\u201d Thompson said. \u201cThe mechanism of making those films requires a place of pure imagination, you know, where you just have to play like a kid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThompson explained why she sought out the Marvel role: \u201cI really wanted to make a movie like that, because I\u2019m not sure I can do that, and I really want to figure out if I can. And it was just so fun. It really, really freed me up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe conversation also included Thompson\u2019s latest project, \u201cHedda,\u201d marking another collaboration with director Nia DaCosta. Thompson plays the title role in DaCosta\u2019s contemporary adaptation of Henrik Ibsen\u2019s \u201cHedda Gabler,\u201d produced by Thompson\u2019s company Viva Maude.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThompson spoke candidly about taking on the challenging role: \u201cI really like to do things that terrify me, I really like that.\u201d She noted that few women of color have played Hedda historically, though she emphasized that wasn\u2019t the reason for making the film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI became conscious that I\u2019m not sure I would have got the opportunity, were it not for a filmmaker that was interested in putting people like me in the center of a frame,\u201d Thompson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe actor praised DaCosta\u2019s vision for making Ibsen \u201caccessible,\u201d aiming for something that \u201cactually felt sort of buoyant and had its own sort of fun and delight and felt delicious.\u201d Thompson added: \u201cThe idea of getting to present something that might not be for everybody, but there might be a whole new generation or group of people that suddenly are like, Ibsen, who\u2019s this? Ibsen felt really sexy and fun to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThompson also discussed her early collaboration with Ryan Coogler on \u201cCreed,\u201d describing how the director \u201creally approached it still from a very homegrown independent filmmaker spirit\u201d despite it being a big studio film. She and Michael B.
