JJ Peterka<\/a> scored his first goal for the Mammoth (1-2-0), and Vitek Vanecek<\/a> made 11 saves.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019ve got to look at ourselves on this one,\u201d said forward Barrett Hayton<\/a>, who played in his first game of the season after missing the first two with a lower-body injury. \u201cOver these first three games, I don\u2019t think we\u2019ve been nearly hard enough around the net. I think that\u2019s a big thing. That\u2019s another big piece of our team, being able to have two guys inside, compete around the net, be hard in there. We\u2019ve just been too perimeter. When we\u2019ve gotten around the net, we haven\u2019t been hard enough. We\u2019ve got to fight around there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mikheyev put the Blackhawks ahead 1-0 at 9:21 of the second period. He skated toward the net along the goal line extended right and jammed the puck in on Vanecek\u2019s glove side.<\/p>\n

Peterka tied the game at 1:02 of the third period. He took a backhand pass from Dylan Guenther<\/a> and scored from the bottom of the left face-off circle. The forward was acquired in a trade with Buffalo on June 26.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust pressure them, I think that was the key,\u201d Peterka said. \u201cTo get chances off the forecheck and kind of like sit on them.
