A Formula One insider has provided an update on the health of Michael Schumacher, suggesting that the F1 legend may potentially be showing signs of improvement following news earlier this year<\/p>\n

An insider from the world of Formula One<\/a> has offered a glimmer of hope regarding Michael Schumacher’s<\/a> health, suggesting there may be small signs of improvement in his condition.<\/p>\n

Stefan L’Hermitt, a reporter for L’Equipe, has hinted that the legendary F1 driver’s condition might have seen some progress, 11 years after his devastating skiing accident. Speaking to Le Grand Recit<\/a>, he said: “I would say he’s not doing well, but he might be getting better because fundamentally we don’t know anything.<\/p>\n

“This year, he signed a helmet for a charity event. Was it his wife who held his hand? We don’t know exactly, but it’s the first time we’ve had a kind of positive sign, almost a sign of life.”<\/p>\n

In a touching gesture earlier this year, Schumacher signed the helmet of fellow motorsport icon Sir Jackie Stewart<\/a>, joining dozens of other drivers in a heartfelt act that has given fans renewed hope for his recovery.<\/p>\n

His wife, Corrina, is believed to have assisted him, as his initials ‘M.S’ were spotted on the bottom right of the white helmet.<\/p>\n

L’Hermitt went on to say that while he hasn’t received any direct updates on Schumacher’s condition, he believes the F1 star is still unable to speak or communicate.<\/p>\n

“So we’re still dealing with someone who is still breathing, who might have some small interactions with his family, but we can’t say for sure that he’s doing well,” he added.<\/p>\n

Since his skiing accident in the French Alps in December 2013, very little has been seen or heard of Schumacher.<\/p>\n

His wife, Corinna, has kept a tight circle around him to maintain his privacy.<\/p>\n

Last year, rumours were rife that he had attended his daughter Gina’s wedding on the island, with guests and staff reportedly asked to surrender their mobile phones.<\/p>\n

Security personnel were also thought to have made certain that no one could interrupt the ceremony or festivities.<\/p>\n

However, Schumacher’s former Benetton team-mate Johnny Herbert <\/a>dismissed these claims, stating: “From what I understand, that was all fake news.”<\/p>\n
