\n\tThe world is still mourning the loss<\/a> of Diane Keaton<\/a>, who passed away on Oct. 11 at the age of 79, but it\u2019s her son Duke, 25, whose first sighting might be the most heartbreaking of all.<\/p>\n

\n\tDressed all in black, Duke was spotted leaving his late mother\u2019s home on Oct. 12, by the Daily Mail<\/a>. The most touching aspect of his outfit was the subtle nod to her iconic fashion sense. He was seen wearing two cross necklaces that dangled around his chest. Keaton always had a unique sense of style<\/a>, and she adored her accessories, whether it was a necktie, a hat, or a piece of jewelry.<\/p>\n

\n\tKeaton told People<\/a> in 2024 that her flair for fashion came from her mother, who loved vintage and thrift-store pieces. \u201cShe was my biggest supporter and manifester of my creativity. Later in life, my inspiration came from countless hours of cutting and pasting my way through magazines like Vogue magazine,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd it, of course, is Duke, who also shared a keen interest in thrifting. \u201cI went with my son last weekend to go thrifting,\u201d she said in August 2024. \u201cI picked up a styling pair of jeans. I think they were only $12.00!\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tMotherhood may have come later in life for her<\/a> \u2014 she adopted Dexter at the age of 50, and Duke at the age of 55, but she loved every moment. \u201cI didn\u2019t think that I was ever going to be prepared to be a mother,\u201d she told Ladies\u2019 Home Journal in January 2008, via Today<\/a>. \u201cMotherhood was not an urge I couldn\u2019t resist. It was more like a thought I\u2019d been thinking for a very long time. So I plunged in.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe added, \u201cI\u2019ve had such an unusual life. Obviously career-oriented. I was happy to be a daughter well into my 40s. That was something that meant a lot to me. I didn\u2019t think that I was ever going to be prepared to be a mother.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKeaton became a mother at a time in her life when it made sense for her, and it\u2019s evident that her legacy lives on through Duke and Dexter \u2014\u00a0along with her epic fashion sense.<\/p>\n
