{"id":213442,"date":"2025-10-14T19:39:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T19:39:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/213442\/"},"modified":"2025-10-14T19:39:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T19:39:11","slug":"assassins-creed-franchise-boss-marc-alexis-cote-exits-ubisoft-amid-restructuring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/213442\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Assassin&#8217;s Creed&#8217; Franchise Boss Marc-Alexis C\u00f4t\u00e9 Exits Ubisoft Amid Restructuring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto lrv-a-font-body-m \">The head of <a id=\"auto-tag_ubisoft\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/ubisoft\/\" data-tag=\"ubisoft\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ubisoft<\/a>\u2018s popular \u201cAssassin\u2019s Creed\u201d video game franchise, Marc-Alexis C\u00f4t\u00e9, has exited the French gaming giant amid the launch of its new subsidiary, <a id=\"auto-tag_vantage-studios\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/vantage-studios\/\" data-tag=\"vantage-studios\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vantage Studios<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto lrv-a-font-body-m \">Led by co-CEOs Christophe Derennes\u00a0and\u00a0Charlie Guillemot, Vantage launched two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto lrv-a-font-body-m \">Announced March 27, the spinoff was created to \u201caccelerate the growth\u201d of three of Ubisoft\u2019s top franchises \u2014 \u201cAssassin\u2019s Creed,\u201d \u201cRainbow Six\u201d and \u201cFar Cry\u201d \u2014 and \u201cfocus on building brand ecosystems capable of becoming evergreen, billion-euro franchises.\u201d The company is a joint venture with Ubisoft stakeholder Tencent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto lrv-a-font-body-m \">C\u00f4t\u00e9 exits Ubisoft after two decades with the company and on the heels of the publisher announcing an \u201cAssassin\u2019s Creed\u201d TV series in the works at Netflix. He was co-director for \u201cAssassin\u2019s Creed III\u201d (2012) and the the creative director for 2014\u2019s\u201d Assassin\u2019s Creed: Syndicate\u201d and has led the franchise overall since 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto lrv-a-font-body-m \">There is no information yet regarding who C\u00f4t\u00e9\u2019s successor will be at Ubisoft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto lrv-a-font-body-m \">\u201cFollowing the organizational restructuring announced in March 2025, Marc-Alexis C\u00f4t\u00e9 has chosen to pursue a new path elsewhere outside of Ubisoft,\u201d Ubisoft said in a statement Tuesday. \u201cWhile we are saddened to see him go, we\u2019re confident that our talented teams will carry forward the strong foundation he helped build. We are deeply grateful for the impact Marc-Alexis has had over the years, particularly in shaping the \u2018Assassin\u2019s Creed\u2019 brand into what it is today.
