WESTFIELD, N.J.\u2014The William & Mary men’s golf team continued its strong start to the 2025-26 season, scoring a third-place finish at the Georgetown Intercollegiate at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield, N.J.

\nThe Tribe posted team scores of 304-294 (+30) in the 11-team tournament which was rain-shortened to 36 holes over Monday and Tuesday. W&M battled tough scoring conditions to finish one shot behind Harvard and nine shots behind team champion, and host, Georgetown.
\n\u00a0
\nTim Pemberton<\/a>‘s squad has now finished in the top five in each of its first four events.
\n\u00a0
\nPreston Burton<\/a> also brought home a top-three finish for the Tribe individually, finishing two shots behind Barnes Blakes (Georgetown) and Reese Jensen (Harvard) who tied for medalist honors at 1-over.

\nBurton opened up the event with a 4-over 75 on Monday before battling back to fire an even-par 71 at Echo Lake’s 7,119-yard layout. The junior was a model of consistency to move up the leaderboard on Tuesday with 16 pars, a birdie and a bogey. Burton’s 30 pars over the 36 holes were the most in the field by three, while his 2-over-par effort on the par-4’s tied for best in the field.

\nGrady Williams<\/a> was the pacesetter for the Green and Gold in round one with a 2-over 73. Williams began Monday’s round at 3-over through five before battling back to play his final 13 holes at 1-under. He followed that up with a 76 in Tuesday’s final round to earn a solid T-8 finish.

\nTalon Dingledine<\/a> joined Williams at 7-over total at T-8. The Tribe freshman netted his fourth straight top-10 finish in his first four college events thanks to scores of 77-72. Dingledine’s final round 72 featured a pair of birdies as he cared 36 on each side.

\nEli Felty<\/a> and Matthew Monastero<\/a> rounded out the lineup for W&M, tying for 40th. The duo shot scores of 79-77 and 81-75 respectively.
