Megan Schutt is eying off the dream of retiring with every major trophy in Australia\u2019s<\/a> keeping, but says it won\u2019t be the sole factor dictating her future.<\/p>\n

Schutt made headlines last year when she identified the ongoing ODI World Cup as her likely exit point, after a career that now includes more than 300 international wickets.<\/p>\n

But the veteran seamer has since changed plans, deciding she wants to play on into the summer and potentially until next year\u2019s T20 World Cup in England.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the plan, but that\u2019s obviously not a given,\u201d Schutt said recently.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m completely aware that if my performances aren\u2019t up to scratch and I\u2019m not featuring in the XI still contributing, or if that fire burns out, I wouldn\u2019t stay on.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll have some reflections closer to that World Cup next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if I feel that\u2019s right, then that might be the end. I don\u2019t think I can make that decision ahead of time. I\u2019m an impulsive person and I\u2019ll feel it in the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Going on to next year\u2019s World Cup could potentially give Schutt \u2014 and other senior members of Australia\u2019s team \u2014 the chance to exit with all trophies in hand.<\/p>\n

Australia remain unbeaten in the current 50-over World Cup in the subcontinent, after pulling off the biggest chase in ODI history of 331 against India on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Victory over Bangladesh on Thursday in Visakhapatnam would lock in a semi-final spot, as Australia aim to become the first team to win back-to-back ODI World Cups in almost 40 years.<\/p>\n

Australia currently hold the Ashes<\/a>, and while there is a home multi-format series against India this summer, next year\u2019s T20 World Cup is a chance to win back what they lost last year in the UAE.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019d be one hell of a way to go out. To hold everything under the mantle would be cool,\u201d Schutt said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the plan, but at the same time, when you\u2019ve been around a long time and achieved everything there is to achieve, you get asked a lot about that.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally you just want to finish the game knowing you\u2019ve given what you can and didn\u2019t hold the team back.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old was left out of Australia\u2019s team for the World Cup opener against New Zealand, but is now firmly back in the first-choice attack.<\/p>\n

Some 13 years after her international debut, Schutt took an eye to her future this year when she completed a level-three coaching course.<\/p>\n

But she said working out the timing of a career transition was not easy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m someone who puts all the eggs in the one basket and so it\u2019s really hard for me to picture what my next basket is,\u201d Schutt said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll know in my heart if it\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn England, if it happens to be a great moment of lifting a trophy and that feels like that\u2019s enough, then I\u2019ll call time then, but I\u2019m not sure.\u201d<\/p>\n
