{"id":217437,"date":"2025-10-16T09:50:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T09:50:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/217437\/"},"modified":"2025-10-16T09:50:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T09:50:10","slug":"pies-welcome-back-goldsack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/217437\/","title":{"rendered":"Pies welcome back Goldsack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n                News\n            <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__summary\">\n                Collingwood is pleased to welcome\u00a0back\u00a02010\u00a0AFL Premiership player Tyson\u00a0Goldsack\u00a0to the Club as an assistant coach.\n            <\/p>\n<p>Collingwood is pleased to welcome\u00a0back\u00a02010\u00a0AFL Premiership player Tyson\u00a0Goldsack\u00a0to the Club as an assistant coach.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A fan-favourite, Goldsack returns to the black and white after six years at Port Adelaide, most recently serving as an assistant coach, overseeing the side\u2019s defence.<\/p>\n<p>The defender joined Port Adelaide as a development coach and SANFL player after he retired from Collingwood\u00a0in\u00a02019.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Goldsack\u00a0was then listed as an AFL rookie by the Power for the 2021 season. While he\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0feature at AFL level, he played\u00a0an important role\u00a0in developing the Club\u2019s young talent.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Following his retirement from Port Adelaide,\u00a0Goldsack\u00a0worked as a development coach in 2022 and then, in 2023, took the reins of Power&#8217;s SANFL side as senior coach, in addition to his development role.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For the past two seasons,\u00a0Goldsack\u00a0has served as an\u00a0assistant\u00a0coach under Ken Hinkley.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Before making the switch to the Power,\u00a0Goldsack\u00a0played\u00a013 seasons and\u00a0165\u00a0games for Collingwood.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>EGM of Football Charlie Gardiner welcomed\u00a0Goldsack\u00a0back to the Magpies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are\u00a0excited\u00a0to have Tyson return to the Club as an assistant coach. He is an\u00a0outstanding\u00a0person who has\u00a0done a\u00a0great\u00a0apprenticeship at Port Adelaide over the past six years,\u201d Gardiner said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is\u00a0quickly\u00a0developing a reputation as an excellent young coach\u00a0and with a\u00a0strong development background,\u00a0he will be a terrific addition to our coaching group.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u00a0look forward to welcoming\u00a0Goldy,\u00a0his partner\u00a0Chelsea and\u00a0their children Harriet and Cleo back\u00a0to the Club.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Goldsack will commence at the Club when the AFL program returns for pre-season training in November.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/magpi.es\/AFLWR10Tickets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Feel the Pride!
