New Delhi: The world’s leading boxers will assemble in India for the first-ever World Boxing Cup Finals 2025, slated to be held at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida from November 14 to 21.

According to the Boxing Federation of India (BFI), the high-profile event will feature top global pugilists — including winners from the 2025 Cup stages — competing across ten Olympic-style weight categories for the prestigious World Boxing Cup trophy.

Marking India’s debut as host, the week-long championship represents a major milestone in the country’s rise as an international boxing powerhouse. Following the success of the inaugural 2024 edition held across England, the USA, and Mongolia, with the Finals in England, India now enters the 2025 edition ranked among the world’s top five nations, with 17 medals — four gold, six silver, and seven bronze — already secured this season.

BFI President Ajay Singh said hosting the Finals underscores India’s growing prominence in world boxing. “This reflects how far Indian boxing has progressed, both in performance and capability to organise world-class events. With India set to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games and eyeing the 2036 Olympics, this is an important milestone,” Singh said.

Earlier in the year, the 2025 World Boxing Cup kicked off in Brazil’s Foz do Iguacu, where Indian men’s boxers claimed six medals. Hitesh Gulia secured gold in the 70kg division, Abhinash Jamwal (65kg) took silver, and Jadumani Singh (50kg), Manish Rathore (55kg), Sachin Siwach (60kg), and Vishal (90kg) earned bronze medals.

The second stage in Poland was followed by the third in Astana, Kazakhstan, where India’s elite women boxers made a strong impact. Sakshi Chaudhary (54kg), Jasmine Lamboria (57kg), and Nupur Sheoran (80+kg) clinched gold medals, while veterans Pooja Rani (80kg) and Minakshi Hooda (48kg) won silver. Sanju Khatri (60kg) added a bronze to India’s tally.
