\n\tElectronic Arts revealed Thursday that \u201cBattlefield 6<\/a>,\u201d the latest entry into EA\u2019s long-running \u201cBattlefield\u201d video game franchise, sold more than seven million copies in the first three days following its Oct. 10 launch.<\/p>\n

\n\tThat still-growing sales figure marks a \u201cBattlefield\u201d franchise record for \u201cBattlefield 6,\u201d which also saw more than 172 million matches played online and accumulated over 15 million hours watched on streaming services during the 3-day weekend, as well as earning the most concurrent players for \u201cBattlefield\u201d ever, according to EA.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFirst and foremost we want to thank our players,\u201d said Byron Beede, General Manager of Battlefield said. \u201cBattlefield 6 was built with our fans. From the initial concept through to the implementation of Battlefield Labs and into the record-shattering Open Beta we have been obsessed with player feedback. Together, with our players we\u2019ve had a singular goal: to craft the best Battlefield ever. And this is just the beginning \u2013 our first season of new content is just 12 days away.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPer EA, the \u201cBattlefield 6\u201d launch is \u201cthe first step to building a connected\u00a0Battlefield\u00a0universe for the franchise,\u201d with Season 1 of in-game content set to release Oct. 28: \u201cThe first phase of thrilling seasonal content kicks off with Rogue Ops, which includes a new map called Blackwell Fields built for the chaos of all-out warfare and an intense new 4v4 mode. Seasonal content will be released on a consistent basis, with the next two phases of Season 1 content arriving later this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
