A total of 55 players remain without confirmed contracts for the 2026 season, leaving them in AFL<\/a> limbo in the wake of the cessation of the trade period.<\/p>\n

Clubs gained a greater understanding of their list spots for next year once in the clear from the player movement window, with further contract calls and delistings to come in the next month prior to the AFL Draft<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Of the 18 AFL<\/a> clubs, 15 have at least one player without a contract for next year, with Fremantle, Melbourne and Port Adelaide already deciding on their unsigned players.<\/p>\n

Gold Coast have the most still without deals at nine, while Geelong have seven following their late-season finish.<\/p>\n

The most notable names still unsigned include Carlton’s Mith McGover, Collingwood pair Mason Cox<\/a> and Tom Mitchell<\/a>, Essendon’s Ben Hobbs<\/a>, Geelong duo Cameron Guthrie<\/a> and Jed Bews<\/a>, Gold Coast forward Jy Farrar<\/a>, and Swans veterans Jake Lloyd<\/a> and Dane Rampe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Brisbane have Callum Ah Chee<\/a> off-contract still after his trade request to Adelaide fell through before Wednesday’s deadline, with the premiership Lion now in line to join the Crows via the Pre-Season Draft.<\/p>\n
