{"id":219861,"date":"2025-10-17T09:15:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-17T09:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/219861\/"},"modified":"2025-10-17T09:15:06","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T09:15:06","slug":"pecco-bagnaia-still-battling-indonesia-problem-we-dont-know-how-to-fix-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/219861\/","title":{"rendered":"Pecco Bagnaia still battling \u2018Indonesia problem\u2019, \u2018we don\u2019t know how to fix it\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ducati\u2019s Pecco Bagnaia admits he has \u201cexactly the same\u201d issues on one of his GP25s as he did at Mandalika and admits \u201cwe\u2019re not sure how to fix it\u201d after Friday at the Australian MotoGP.<\/p>\n<p>The double world champion came from a clean sweep at the Japanese Grand Prix to a total disaster a week later at the Indonesian Grand Prix, where he was last in the sprint and crashed out of the main race.<\/p>\n<p>Both he and his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/ducati-lenovo-team\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ducati<\/a> team were at a loss to explain what happened, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/911999\/francesco-bagnaia\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pecco Bagnaia<\/a> continuing to battle issues on Friday at the Australian Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>In both practice sessions, he was seen unhappy with one of his bikes, though he was able to rally in the second half of both outings on his second machine.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/news\/1084155\/1\/2025-australian-motogp-marco-bezzecchi-blitzes-lap-record-lead-practice\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">He was ninth in Practice and directly into Q2<\/a>, but admits he currently only has one \u201cusable\u201d bike, and that still isn\u2019t giving him the feeling he had at Motegi.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe positive side is that I\u2019m definitely starting further ahead than I did in the last race,\u201d he told Sky Italy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOtherwise, it was a difficult day to understand because we had several complications with one of the two bikes in both sessions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wasn\u2019t able to continue a job I\u2019d done well, putting in more laps with the tyre.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut, in the end, we managed to get into Q2, despite a less-than-perfect lap. The goal was to get into Q2, and making it is good.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTomorrow morning, it will be crucial to figure out which tyres to try for the sprint race, and we\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>Asked if the problems he had on one of his Ducatis were the same as in Indonesia, he replied: \u201cYes, exactly the same thing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, there\u2019s something that\u2019s the same problem as in Indonesia. And we\u2019re not sure how to fix it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has happened two or three other times this season, but we\u2019re not really sure where it\u2019s coming from.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re trying to figure it out. I know full well that the team is there analysing what they can do to move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the bike that is working better, he added: \u201cIt\u2019s not [got the same feeling as] Japan. Absolutely not.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut it\u2019s usable. We\u2019re trying to make it more similar. Unfortunately, I\u2019m not able to get the same feeling on the front end with a bike that slows down well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd especially when I release the brakes, it spins.
