Sam Pang has found himself at the centre of a global media storm after one of his celebrity guests made a jaw-dropping statement on his Channel 10 late night show.<\/p>\n
The Aussie comedian\u2019s show features an American-style late night format with celebrity guests and marks the most ambitious attempt at a late night series since Rove left the airways in 2009.<\/p>\n
Sam Pang Tonight returned to screens this week for a second run of episodes and featured Hollywood A-lister Rosie O\u2019Donnell as a guest.<\/p>\n
O\u2019Donnell, a high profile critic of President Donald Trump, relocated to Ireland following his re-election in 2024 and is currently in Australia with her one-woman show.<\/p>\n
Pang quizzed the showbiz veteran about her impressive career, including her best on-air interviews on The Rosie O\u2019Donnell Show, which aired from 1996 until 2002.<\/p>\n
At one point, Pang asked O\u2019Donnell who was her \u201cworst\u201d celeb guest to which she named Hollywood movie star Keanu Reeves.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s so sweet, he looks gorgeous, I love all his movies, but he would not answer a question,\u201d O\u2019Donnell said of the Matrix star.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d say, \u2018So, Keanu, how\u2019s it going? How are you feeling?\u2019 (He\u2019d respond) \u2018Good.\u2019 We were live. We couldn\u2019t re-tape.<\/p>\n
\u201cI finally said after three minutes, \u2018You know, Keanu, it is a talk show. You have to talk.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cBut he did come back and he got the hang of it.”<\/p>\n
O\u2019Donnell quickly added that Reeves was \u201ca lovely man and a good-hearted guy\u201d whom she had no intention of throwing \u201cunder the bus\u201d.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, the exchange has subsequently been picked up by media outlets in the United Kingdom and the United States.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a clip of the exchange has already amassed about 100,000 views on YouTube.<\/p>\n
