The Carlton Blues<\/a> have won the sweepstakes for retired Power legend Travis Boak<\/a>, bringing in the 387-gamer into the club in an off-field role, according to AFL Media’s Josh Gabelich.<\/p>\n

Carlton discussed football department roles with the 387-game Power legend in September, with the confirmed move seeing Boak join former Port Adelaide footy boss Chris Davies at Ikon Park.<\/p>\n

Gabelich stated that Boak was weighing up roles at Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs<\/a>, but the two in-state rivals were ultimately beat out by Carlton to claim Boak’s knowledge and specialities in an off-field capacity.<\/p>\n

Boak said following his final game\u00a0he’d like to return to sporting circles in some capacity<\/a>, whether that’s in a performance-coaching space or in the areas of corporate and business.<\/p>\n

Boak’s arrival at Carlton sees him take on a leadership and culture role at the club, returning to Victoria for the first time since he was drafted to the Power in 2006.<\/p>\n

His addition is the latest change to the Blues’ off-field departments. The club announced earlier this month their revamped coaching structure<\/a>, which saw them add an additional midfield coach to better support senior coach Michael Voss<\/a>.<\/p>\n
