GEORGE, Utah —<\/p>\n \u00a0The ACU women’s tennis team finished runner-up in doubles, and has a chance at winning the singles championship at the WAC Tennis Invitational.<\/p>\n The Wildcat pair of Masha Vrsalovic<\/a> and Alice Klinteby<\/a> fought hard in the doubles final, extending a second-set tiebreaker, but lost to Tarleton State, 6-3, 7-6 [11-9].<\/p>\n In singles competition, after a furious comeback on Thursday sent her to Friday’s semifinals, Vrsalovic did not need to rally as she breezed past Tarleton State’s Emma Persson to a 6-1, 6-3 victory.<\/p>\n Vrsalovic — one of ACU’s four seniors on the team — advances to play TSU’s Maria Castano in the singles final on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.<\/p>\n The winners of the singles and doubles draws earn automatic berths in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships to be played\u00a0Nov. 18-23 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.<\/p>\n On the consolation side of the singles bracket, Klinteby\u00a0narrowly lost to UT Arlington’s Sofia Selle in three sets — 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 [7-5].<\/p>\n Klinteby plays in the seventh place match on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT.<\/p>\n Thursday, Oct. 16\u00a0(LIVE RESULTS<\/a>)<\/p>\n Women’s Singles Quarterfinals\u00a0 Women’s Doubles Semifinals\u00a0 Friday, Oct. 17\u00a0(LIVE RESULTS<\/a>)<\/p>\n Women’s Singles Semifinals Women’s Singles Consolations Women’s Doubles Final Women’s Doubles Consolation Saturday, Oct. 18\u00a0(LIVE RESULTS<\/a>)<\/p>\n Women’s Singles Consolations
