Laila Ali has responded to Claressa Shields taking shots at her.<\/p>\n
During an appearance on Gillie Da Kidd\u2019s and Wallo\u2019s \u201cMillion Dollaz Worth Of Game,\u201d Shields said Ali is only highly regarded because of who her dad is.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m gonna take the high road like Terence Crawford and say she was the best in her era,\u201d Shields said around the two-minute mark. \u201cActually, I\u2019m not gonna lie. Ann Wolfe was the best in her era, and I\u2019m the best in this era. Laila Ali is just Muhammad Ali\u2019s daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gillie Da Kid said \u201cNah, come on, we ain\u2019t gonna do that,\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNah, that is right,\u201d Shields argued.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Wallo came to Ali\u2019s defense saying, \u201cShe was in there fighting,\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Shields would not let up on her assessment of Laila.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe can\u2019t rumble like Ann Wolfe. \u2018Who is the best from the era?\u2019 Ann Wolfe would\u2019ve knocked Laila Ali out,\u201d Shields said.<\/p>\n
In an almost 30-minute on YouTube, Ali clapped back at Shields.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know what my father would say? She\u2019s a generic wannabe. My father would not want to share his name or image with her. She does not represent anything about him in the ring or outside of the ring,\u201d Ali said. \u201cNow, many of us, including myself, had high hopes for her. I supported her. I sent her off in the right direction, but she has become a disappointment. She is a horrible representation of both the sport and our culture.\u201d<\/p>\n
