Then it becomes two-hour paid parking until 4pm, at which point it transforms into a bus lane until 7pm, but only on weekdays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">From 7pm to 9pm (again, only Monday to Friday), the two-hour paid parking returns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">On Saturdays and Sundays, it\u2019s also two-hour paid parking from 10.30am until 9pm, but of course, you can\u2019t forget the loading zone restrictions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Ms Phitidis cheekily captioned the video: \u201cShe was here for 78 minutes trying to make sense of Sydney\u2019s INSANE parking sign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Reactions online were split. Some users insisted \u201cpeople shouldn\u2019t be driving if they can\u2019t read that,\u201d while others saw the sign as a trap.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cBy the time you park there and decipher the sign, you\u2019d probably have a ticket already,\u201d one person wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cYeah absolutely not, I\u2019m parking somewhere else. All I\u2019m seeing is that you\u2019re gonna cop a fine,\u201d another added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Others simply waved the white flag: \u201cI think I would drive off, too scary for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">One commenter summed up the confusion perfectly: \u201cThe problem is my brain is doing the thing where it\u2019s like I\u2019m going cross-eyed &amp; it\u2019s all merging together, twisting and turning, kinda unravelling and it feels like I\u2019m trying to read scribble.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Still, some drivers came to the sign\u2019s defence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cThis is very easy to read, though and I\u2019m not even from Sydney,\u201d one argued. \u201cJust start from the top sign and work your way down. Takes about a minute to understand,\u201d wrote another.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">A Melburnian chimed in with: \u201cMove aside.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Ms Phitidis said she was \u201cshocked by the number of people defending the signs,\u201d rejecting the notion that it\u2019s \u201csuper easy to read,\u201d as one commenter claimed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cI think parking signs should be able to be understood at a glance, not after several minutes,\u201d Ms Phitidis told <a class=\"css-hwy1qg-StyledTextLink ezegcyi0\" data-link-type=\"article-inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.news.com.au\/lifestyle\/real-life\/news-life\/can-you-decipher-this-sydney-parking-sign-aussies-are-divided\/news-story\/a4e9fdf04fb4765eae540eddf4c297ce\">news.com.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cEspecially if you\u2019re driving and you don\u2019t want to hold up traffic and you need to reverse park. You should be able to glance at the ONE sign and understand it immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cI was also shocked by the number of commenters who were bothered enough to then type out full explanations of what each and every one of the signs was saying,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cI wrote back to a few people clarifying my position, which was \u2018of course I could read and understand the signs, I didn\u2019t need someone to explain them to me, my point is purely that it is overcomplicated and for what reason?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">She stressed the woman in the video was not the butt of the joke.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cPeople who are driving down busy Oxford Street, with loads of traffic behind them, who are going to stop traffic to park, need to be able to glance quickly and, within a few seconds, be able to decide if they can park there or not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9czhig-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">The confusion wasn\u2019t limited to Australians.
