The only person who now seems likely to stop Marc Marquez from winning the 2025 MotoGP riders\u2019 title is the Ducati pilot himself after dominating the field this season.<\/p>\n

Cervera, Spain native Marquez<\/a> hit the summer break boasting a whopping 120-point lead in the standings over his brother, Alex Marquez of Gresini. Even the 32-year-old\u2019s works Ducati<\/a> teammate Francesco Bagnaia trails the six-time champion by 168 points after just 12 rounds.<\/p>\n

It would now take a huge turnaround during the final 10 rounds of the 2025 MotoGP season<\/a> for anyone to prevent Marquez from matching Valentino Rossi as a seven-time premier class champion. He has won eight of the 12 Grands Prix and 11 of the Sprint Races so far this year.<\/p>\n

Marquez will not discuss \u2018where or when\u2019 he might win the 2025 MotoGP title<\/a> as his focus is on staying ahead. The Spaniard wants to adopt the mentality that he \u2018can only lose\u2019 the title with the points advantage that the 70-time premier class Grand Prix winner already relishes.<\/p>\n

Former Ducati ace Andrea Dovizioso<\/a> admits he did not expect to see Marquez dominate \u2018to this extent\u2019 when the 73-time MotoGP polesitter joined the Borgo Panigale natives\u2019 factory team. Marquez agreed a two-season, \u00a320m contract with Ducati<\/a> to replace Enea Bastianini.<\/p>\n

Yet even with the Spaniard riding in a league of his own this term, Dovizioso thinks Marquez might have started to lose his \u2018absurd\u2019 ability to win races he had no right to win. Only when Marco Bezzecchi won May\u2019s British Grand Prix has a rival truly denied Marquez in a dry race.<\/p>\n

Dovizioso told Fanpage<\/a>: \u201cI expected Marc to cause problems for everyone, but not to this extent. It\u2019s further confirmation of his skill.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, Marquez isn\u2019t the same as before. He still has trouble holding back, but he\u2019s more aware, he manages himself better and that makes the difference, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the past, he did absurd things, he pulled out races he shouldn\u2019t have even had to. Now, perhaps he\u2019s a little less capable. But with his experience, it\u2019s more than enough.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marc Marquez could have 11 Grand Prix wins from 12 races without his mistakes in 2025<\/p>\n

Bezzecchi\u2019s British GP win came in the only Grand Prix so far this term where Marquez was not in the fight for the victory. Marquez benefited from MotoGP\u2019s restart rules at Silverstone<\/a> to take part in the restarted race, yet he finished in third place after dropping to P9 on Lap 4.<\/p>\n

Bagnaia scored his only win so far this season at the Americas Grand Prix after Marquez fell while leading. Alex Marquez secured his first and so far only MotoGP victory at the Spanish Grand Prix after Marc crashed early on. Marc also recovered to finish in 12th place at Jerez.<\/p>\n

Marquez crashed out of a comfortable lead in America<\/a> to record his only retirement of 2025 yet.
