Hollywood<\/a> is mourning the loss of acclaimed actress<\/a> \ufeffEnglish actress, Samantha Eggar.<\/p>\n

Eggar, known for films including 1965’s The Collector and 1979’s The Brood, passed away at the age of 86.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Her actress daughter Jenna Stern\ufeff, 58, confirmed the sad news of her passing to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> and revealed she died in California reportedly following five years of illness.<\/p>\n

Jenna, who is known for her work in House of Cards, also shared a touching tribute to her late mother on her public Instagram account with fans.<\/p>\n

“Beautiful, intelligent and tough enough to be fascinatingly vulnerable…Samantha Eggar (1939\u20132025),” it began.<\/p>\n

Jenna revealed in her tribute that she was right by her mother’s side as she passed.<\/p>\n

“My Mama passed Wednesday evening. Peacefully and quietly surrounded by family. I was there next to her\u2026 holding her hand, telling her how much she was loved.<\/p>\n

One follower commented underneath: “She was wonderful. I adored her. Lovely to the end. Our deep condolences on her passing.”<\/p>\n

Eggar’s fullname was Victoria Louise Samantha Marie Elizabeth Therese Eggar.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The late star was born in the UK, but moved to the U.S. where she married filmmaker and actor Tom Stern.<\/p>\n
