STANFORD, Calif. \u2013\u00a0The Washington women’s golf team completed the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate today, sitting in 19th place with a team score of 298 on the par-71 course. While other teams are still finishing play, the Huskies have wrapped up their round and will look to close strong in Sunday’s finale.<\/p>\n
Despite a tough day overall, there were bright spots across the lineup as the team combined for seven birdies.<\/p>\n
Mads Smith<\/a> led the Huskies today, finishing the round at two-over to sit at +6 overall. Smith’s lone birdie came on the back nine, helping her post Washington’s low score of the day, placing 71st on the leaderboard when written.<\/p>\n Carmen Lim<\/a> followed close behind, currently in 77th, carding a two-over round with one birdie on the opening hole to score 78 overall.<\/p>\n Wendy Tang<\/a> provided some strong moments, tallying a team-best four birdies on her route to a +4 round, sitting at 9-over for the tournament.<\/p>\n Competing as an individual, Athena Ni<\/a> recorded one birdie but struggled through a few tough holes, ending the day +9 and standing at +10 overall.<\/p>\n Amber Li<\/a> rounded out the Husky lineup with a +6 on the day, bringing her total to +14.<\/p>\n
