Essendon loom as a potential suitor, with West Coast a chance to split either Pick 1 or 2 and attain both of Essendon’s early picks.

The Perth club will also consider bids on rival Academy talent, with Gold Coast duo Zeke Uwland and Dylan Patterson, as well as Brisbane’s Dan Annable, all potentially in West Coast’s sight.

“West Coast will obviously be a key driver of this draft, holding Picks 1 and 2,” Craft of the Draft’s Jonty Ralphsmith said.

“It’ll be interesting on a few different fronts, with which players they choose to take. Willem Duursma is one they could take, and is viewed as the consensus No.1 available talent in the open pool.

“Whether West Coast would be receptive of a trade is something to keep an eye on.

<img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-167947" src="data:image/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=" http:="" alt="PERTH, AUSTRALIA - JUNE 07: Willem Duursma of Victoria Country in action during the Marsh AFL National Championships U18 Boys match between Western Australia and Victoria Country at Mineral Resources Park, on June 07, 2025, in Perth, Australia.
