A new-look Australian line-up will bowl against India after winning the toss at Optus Stadium in the series opener of the three one-day series.<\/p>\n
The home side have named two debutants, with fringe Test opener Matt Renshaw to bat in the middle order, while Tasmanian power hitter Mitch Owen will bat at No.6.<\/p>\n
WA great Shaun Marsh presented Renshaw with his cap, while Tim David did the honours for Owen.<\/p>\n
India have also named a debutant in Nitish Kumar Reddy, who also made his Test debut at the venue in November.<\/p>\n
It comes as Australia deal with several injuries to their first-choice line-up, with West Australian all-rounder Cam Green ruled out of the series with a side strain on Friday.<\/p>\n
Fellow hometown hero Josh Inglis will miss at least the first game with a calf strain, while star spinner Adam Zampa is at home awaiting the birth of his second child.<\/p>\n
It has opened the chance for former West Australia wicketkeeper Josh Philippe to don the gloves for an ODI and it will be his first appearance more than four years.<\/p>\n
For India it will likely be the last appearance of legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma at the international level in Perth, with both having retired from Test and Twenty20 cricket, but still aiming to be part of the team to play in the 2027 World Cup.<\/p>\n
Kohli scored a Test match century in his last appearance at the venue, while it will be the first time Shubman Gill will lead the side as the new ODI captain.<\/p>\n
