Construction With Destiny (CWD) has claimed the prestigious HIA Tasmanian Home of the Year award for 2025 with their Nebraska Residence project on Bruny Island.<\/p>\n

The property, described as a coastal sanctuary that blends natural elegance with exceptional craftsmanship, was won of several winners at Saturday night\u2019s HIA 2025 HIA Tasmanian Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards.<\/p>\n

HIA Tasmania Executive Director Benjamin Price praised the winning home\u2019s distinctive qualities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Nebraska Residence is a masterclass in design and detail. It\u2019s a home that doesn\u2019t just sit in its environment \u2013 it belongs to it,\u201d Price said.<\/p>\n

Perched on coastal dunes, the award-winning home features custom Tasmanian oak joinery, handmade Moroccan tiles and brushed brass tapware.<\/p>\n

Minister for Housing and Planning Kerry Vincent acknowledged the project\u2019s significance in addressing contemporary housing challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese awards are a great opportunity to recognise innovative design in housing and this is certainly a standout design,\u201d Vincent said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe need for thinking outside the square with housing solutions has never been more pressing and I look forward to working with industry to find new ways to deliver homes that best meet the needs of Tasmanians.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other notable winners included JOSCON Tasmania, recognised across four categories including Display Home of the Year, and Axis Homes Tas, awarded for both affordability and sustainability with wins in the Custom Built Home up to $750,000 and GreenSmart Sustainable Home categories.<\/p>\n

Turner Plus claimed both the Custom Built Home $1.5 million\u2013$2 million award and the People\u2019s Choice Home of the Year.<\/p>\n

Simon Rossiter Building was named Emerging Builder, while Kalan Hutchins from 2B Building was crowned Apprentice of the Year.<\/p>\n

All category winners will compete at the national 2026 HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards in April 2026.<\/p>\n
