Brandon Ingram<\/a> says he\u2019s embracing a new chapter in Toronto.<\/p>\n In an interview with Marc J. Spears of Andscape<\/a>, the former Pelicans forward said he still has \u201ca lot of love for New Orleans\u201d but felt it was time for a change.<\/p>\n \u201cThis team can be whatever we want it to be,\u201d Ingram said of the Raptors. \u201cWe have everything on the defensive end. We play hard. The next thing is execution over and over again on the offensive end.<\/p>\n \u201cThe East is wide open. We have a chance to be better, but we\u2019ve got to expedite it.\u201d<\/p>\n Ingram, 28, averaged 23.2 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.1 rebounds last season with New Orleans before being dealt to Toronto in July.<\/p>\n Suns<\/p>\n Mark Williams<\/a> looks ready to go when the Suns open the season Wednesday, according to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThis was the most minutes he\u2019s seen in a scrimmage that we\u2019ve played,\u201d head coach Jordan Ott said. \u201cYou can see his size on both ends \u2014 offensively he puts pressure on the rim, and defensively he makes people think twice.\u201d<\/p>\n Williams, who has battled injuries throughout his young career, has appeared in only 106 of a possible 246 games since entering the league. Phoenix has been cautious with his workload this preseason, but Ott said he expects the 7-footer to start at center.<\/p>\n The Suns will also mix in Oso Ighodaro<\/a>, Nick Richards<\/a>, and rookie Khaman Maluach<\/a> as part of a \u201cfluid\u201d rotation early on.<\/p>\n \u201cOn a night-to-night basis, we\u2019ll have a plan,\u201d Ott said. \u201cBut we have to be flexible and read the games to see who\u2019s impacting winning.\u201d<\/p>\n Nets<\/p>\n No. 8 overall pick Egor Demin<\/a> says his foot injury predated the NBA Draft.<\/p>\n The 19-year-old Russian guard\/forward told The New York Post\u2019s Brian Lewis<\/a> that the plantar fascia tear he\u2019s been rehabbing actually occurred before June \u2014 not during Summer League \u2014 and simply got worse over time.<\/p>\n While the Nets expect to monitor his foot all season, Demin said he doesn\u2019t anticipate needing surgery. He made his preseason debut Thursday and impressed, scoring 14 points with five rebounds in 19 minutes against the Raptors.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was excellent,\u201d head coach Jordi Fernandez said. \u201cHe\u2019s composed, he talks to his teammates, and he made it look easy. He shot it when he was open, got to the line, and rebounded.
