TORONTO (AP) \u2014 One win from their first World Series<\/a>, the Seattle Mariners<\/a> never got off the ground Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Seattle grounded into inning-ending double plays in three straight turns at bat and made a season-high three errors in a in a 6-2 loss that forced the American League Championship Series to Game 7. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe had opportunities,\u201d Seattle slugger Cal Raleigh<\/a> said after going 0 for 4 with three strikeouts. \u201cWe thought we did a great job with our at-bats. We were able to get people on. It\u2019s just one of those days where we couldn\u2019t get the big run home. Give them credit. They kept us off the board.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seattle will play a Game 7 for the first time in franchise history with a chance to face the Los Angeles Dodgers for the title starting Friday.<\/p>\n

Trailing 2-0 in the third inning, the Mariners loaded the bases with one out against rookie Trey Yesavage<\/a> before Raleigh hit a first-pitch fastball 100.5 mph to first baseman Vladimir Guerrero, who made a backhand pickup and started a 3-6-1 double play.<\/p>\n

With the bases loaded and one out in the fourth and Seattle behind 4-0, J.P. Crawford<\/a> pulled a splitter to second baseman Isiah Kiner-Falefa<\/a>, who flipped to shortstop Andres Gimenez<\/a> to begin a 4-6-3 DP. Toronto became the first team to induce consecutive bases-loaded, inning-ending GIDPs in a postseason game.<\/p>\n

With one on and one out in the fifth, Julio Rodriguez<\/a> grounded into a 6-4-3 double play.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe put the ball in play,\u201d Rodr\u00edguez said. \u201cWe just put it in the wrong place.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rodr\u00edguez bobbled Daulton Varsho<\/a>\u2019s leadoff single to center in the second and third baseman Eugenio Suarez<\/a> allowed Ernie Clement<\/a>\u2019s grounder to pop out of his glove. Addison Barger<\/a> and Kiner-Falefa followed with RBIs single off Logan Gilbert<\/a> for a 2-0 lead.<\/p>\n

Guerrero advanced from second base to third on Matt Brash<\/a>\u2019s seventh-inning wild pitch and scored when Raleigh\u2019s throw from foul territory on the third-base side of the plate skipped down the left-field line.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got to play clean baseball,\u201d Raleigh said. \u201cYou can\u2019t give up extra outs, especially to a team like that. That was part of the difference tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seattle starts George Kirby<\/a> in Game 7 and Toronto sends Shane Bieber<\/a> to the mound. Seattle faced elimination against Detroit in the Division Series but advanced thanks to a 15-inning win in Game 5.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited for the opportunity,” Raleigh said. <\/p>\n

After going 0 for 4 in his third straight hitless game, Seattle’s Jorge Polanco<\/a> tried to be positive.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe never give up,\u201d Polanco said. \u201cWe have another opportunity tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n
