“Although there is no immediate danger, residents need to monitor conditions and be alert for any changes,” the Tasmania Fire Service said.<\/p>\n
“Be ready if the situation escalates. Read through your bushfire plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation gets worse.<\/p>\n
“Embers, smoke and ash may continue to fall in the area. Smoke and ash are present and may make it difficult to see and breathe.”<\/p>\n

On Monday evening the TFS said conditions were expected to improve.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Monday, two emergency bushfire warnings were issued for Nugent.<\/p>\n
Neither of these warnings remained in place as at 7pm on Monday.<\/p>\n

On Monday evening, TFS incident controller Simon Pilkington said while the number of properties in the area was small, the risk had been “significant”.<\/p>\n
Severe winds also hampered firefighting efforts.<\/p>\n
Deputy incident controller Kier Wilson told ABC Radio Hobart the windy conditions meant crews were protecting assets \u2014 mostly houses \u2014 because they were not able to actively fight the fire.<\/p>\n

The Sorell Fire Brigade, in a post on social media, said the first call came through at 12.30pm on Sunday for a fire at Forcett.<\/p>\n
