\u2018I look on the social media streaming platforms of some of these issue motivated groups who are saying that police used excessive force \u2026 the fact was, these were being thrown at police.<\/p>\n
\u2018Bottles filled with shards of glass were being thrown at the police. Rotten fruit was being thrown at police. Bins were put on fire. Flags were on fire, and I think that really, enough\u2019s enough.<\/p>\n
\u2018The disruption to Melbourne, to the general public who want to come into our fine city, the disruption to businesses, we really need to find an answer as to what we do.<\/p>\n
\u2018These are people are coming not to protest. I heard the police commissioner talk about protesters having compassion and care for others. This has certainly not what has been displayed today.<\/p>\n
\u2018People came to pick a fight with the police, and the people who came to pick a fight with the police were the issue motivated groups on the Left.<\/p>\n
\u2018I can tell you that the March for Australia group were peaceful, they were engaging, they listened to our instructions, they did what they were told, and they protested by example.\u2019<\/p>\n
That must have been hard for the ABC to report. But as we\u2019ve come to unfortunately expect, it wasn\u2019t long before parts of the media regurgitated talking points of the aforementioned leftist issue motivated groups. As one journalist asked:<\/p>\n
\u2018Organisers of the anti-fascist element of yesterday\u2019s protest put out a statement late yesterday saying that police attacked members of their march, what would you be your response to that interpretation of what happened yesterday?\u2019<\/p>\n
Victorian Police Association boss Wayne Gatt was having none of it though, and responded as follows:<\/p>\n
\u2018Nobody believes you. You have no credibility. Maybe turn on the TV and have a look at the pictures as they make your statement out to be quite false, to be quite honest.<\/p>\n
\u2018Look, I think that the majority of Victorians see this for what it is. Their sick to the back teeth of this sort of behaviour, this sort of rubbish from these groups.<\/p>\n
\u2018If you\u2019re so peaceful, if you\u2019re just trying to make a peaceful point, then why come in with bags of railway ballast? Why are you throwing bottles with glass shards in them? Why are you throwing fruit, eggs, projectiles at the police? Why are you burning things in the streets? Rubbish bins, effigies of police?<\/p>\n
\u2018Are you serious? Do those actions match those words or commitments? It\u2019s utter rubbish and we should start calling this out for what it is to be quite frank.<\/p>\n
\u2018These people should have no credibility in our society. None whatsoever and we should all stop \u2013 governments included \u2013 facilitating their bad behaviour by pandering to them with our language.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
While Jacinta Allen, the Premier of Victoria, condemned the violence she referred to them more generically as \u2018some \u2026 a small number\u2019. Really \u2026 that\u2019s all? No identifying ideological features which they might have in common?<\/p>\n
As everyone else knows though, Left-wing \u2018issue motivated groups\u2019 are increasingly the perpetrators of violence, not the victims.<\/p>\n
Not only that, but everyone in Australia has had enough.<\/p>\n
Victoria Police can see and identify it for what it is, even if politicians cannot.<\/p>\n
