Mount Gambier\u2019s Liberal candidate is calling for top level football matches to be played in the Blue Lake city.\u2029<\/p>\n
Lamorna Alexander, who is running for the seat of Mount Gambier at the March State Election, wants to see the SANFL play a regional round in the Limestone Coast.\u2029<\/p>\n
Ms Alexander said she has had initial discussions with the SANFL about a \u201cRound the Regions\u201d concept, an initiative that would see a full SANFL round played in regional centres like Mount Gambier.\u2029<\/p>\n
\u201cThis conversation has been positive, and we are open to exploring the idea further,\u201d she said.\u2029<\/p>\n
\u201cWith Vincent Tarzia and the Liberal Party already committing to upgrading Vansittart Park (announced back in January), there\u2019s a real opportunity to build on that momentum and bring state-level football to our region, boosting local tourism, participation and community pride.\u2029<\/p>\n

Ms Alexander said she wanted to work with the SANFL to support grassroots sport and bring people together.\u2029<\/p>\n
\u201cBut why stop there? Imagine if we could bring to Vansittart Park an SANFL \u2018Round the Regions\u2019 right here in Mount Gambier,\u201d she said.\u2029<\/p>\n
