When Beckett Sennecke broke into the Anaheim Ducks<\/a>\u2018 NHL lineup out of training camp, it looked as though he might just get a cup of coffee in the NHL, before being sent back to the Ontario Hockey League.<\/p>\n

Yet, the 19-year old right winger has exceeded expectations so far and has settled in quickly at the NHL level. Through his first five games, the No. 3 pick in the 2024 NHL Draft has two goals and two assists and has been averaging 18:30 of ice time per night, making his case to stay with the Ducks beyond the first nine games of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Monday\u2019s episode of Daily Faceoff Live<\/a>, Daily Faceoff\u2019s Prospect Analyst Steven Ellis joined hosts Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton to break down 6-foot-3, 206 pound Sennecke\u2019s season so far.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hutton: In the Pacific Division. Beckett Sennecke with the Anaheim Ducks, is drawing some attention. What\u2019s your take on his season so far and where does his game suit moving forward as another 19-year-old finding success?\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ellis: You look at where his draft rankings were a couple years ago, and he had a really solid rookie season in the OHL with 55 points, and he moved up to 68 the year after.<\/p>\n

But, what was really important was just how different his game became. He was a much smaller player then, he was under six feet when he was drafted to the OHL. Now, he\u2019s six-foot-four on 200 pounds and this dude is a menacing figure out there, and he really started to show that the last two years in the OHL.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When you look at the fact that he\u2019s still OHL eligible, it always felt like he was going to be sent back down at some point, but he hasn\u2019t been. He had a really good preseason, and he hasn\u2019t got points in the last two games, but the offense has kind of dried up there for Anaheim with just those two goals, but when they were thriving early on, he had four points in the first three games.<\/p>\n

I think what you\u2019re seeing from him right now is a player that\u2019s playing with so much motivation. He\u2019s just built for the pro style game, with that size, with that skill, and with that speed.<\/p>\n
