UCI Track Cycling World Championships Preview<\/p>\n
This week sees more Irish riders in UCI World Championship
\naction, as six riders head to South America for the Track World Championships
\nin Chile. The Championships run from Wednesday October 22nd to
\nSunday October 26th.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Reigning European Champion in the Scratch event Lara
\nGillespie will ride at the Pe\u00f1alol\u00e9n Velodrome in Santiago, and will compete in
\nthree events over the five days. Gillespie will ride:<\/p>\n
Elimination at 10.55pm Thursday<\/p>\n
Omnium starting at 3.38pm on Friday<\/p>\n
Points Race at 5.54pm on Sunday<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Fiona Mangan, like Gillespie, made her Tour de France Femmes
\ndebut this summer, and will this week make her UCI Track World Championships
\ndebut in Chile. Mangan will ride:<\/p>\n
Team Pursuit Qualifier at 3pm on Wednesday<\/p>\n
Pursuit at 5.25pm on Saturday<\/p>\n

Aoife O\u2019Brien saw her positive start to the year dented by
\ninjuries sustained over the summer, but has been performing well in her return
\nto action in recent weeks. The younger of the two O\u2019Brien sisters will ride:<\/p>\n
Team Pursuit Qualifier at 3pm on Wednesday<\/p>\n
Kilo TT at 3pm on Saturday<\/p>\n

Caoimhe O\u2019Brien will join her sister at this year\u2019s Track
\nWorld Championships. Although the elder O\u2019Brien sister\u2019s focus has been on the
\nroad in recent years, including an U23 National Championship in 2024, she\u2019s no
\nstranger to racing on the track. Caoimhe O\u2019Brien will ride:<\/p>\n

Erin Creighton has become a stalwart of Irish track teams
\nover the past number of years, including an appearance at the 2024 Olympics. In
\nSantiago, Creighton will ride:<\/p>\n

Madison at 10.12pm on Saturday<\/p>\n

Emma Jeffers rounds out the Irish contingent in Santiago.
\nHer strong performances at the top level on the road have been mirrored by
\nstrong performances on the track throughout 2025. Jeffers will ride:<\/p>\n
Scratch at 11pm on Wednesday<\/p>\n
Madison at 10.12pm on Saturday<\/p>\n

Should the team get through the Team Pursuit Qualifier, the
\ncompetition continues at 9.30pm on Thursday.<\/p>\n
