The Palace Arcade in Fremantle, famous for is retro gaming, craft beverages, and nostalgic atmosphere is closing its doors after five years.<\/p>\n

The business, which has become well-established at 96 High Street over half a decade, took to social media to share the devastating news in the caption of a photo showing the bar, with \u2018thank you Freo\u2019 written over the top.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter a wonderful five years in the port city, and with our lease recently coming to an end, we\u2019ve made the difficult decision not to renew \u2014 it\u2019s time for us to move on,\u201d the post said.<\/p>\n

The Palace Arcade is known for its curated selection of vintage arcade games from the nineties, New York-style pizza and craft beer and cocktails, but the business referenced the inability to host live events as their main reason for not renewing the lease.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to ongoing noise complaints from our neighbours and the threat of some huge fines, we\u2019ve been unable to host our much-loved music events. Without those, it just didn\u2019t feel right to commit to another five years on High Street,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

They also thanked the customers and suppliers for their business and ongoing commitment.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the whole team at Palace, we want to sincerely thank all our amazing guests, the terrific staff who\u2019ve been part of the journey, and the incredible suppliers who kept the beers flowing \u2014 thank you for being part of our story in Freo!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Palace Arcade has two other venues across Perth \u2014 in Northbridge and Victoria Park \u2014 which are continuing to stay open and offer the same combination of drinks, pizza and nostalgic gaming.<\/p>\n

The social media post was flooded with comments from customers who were devastated to see the bar closed.<\/p>\n

\u201cNooooooooooo!!! \ud83d\ude22 Thanks for the good times legends. \u2764\ufe0f\u201d one person said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy do people live in the city and then complain about the noise?! Ridiculous,\u201d another person commented.<\/p>\n

The Freo branch of the business is still open until Sunday October 26, with a final hospitality night on Monday October 27.<\/p>\n
