Newcastle Knights<\/a> forward Adam Elliott has emerged as a potential target for both the St George Illawarra Dragons<\/a> and Wests Tigers<\/a>, as he remains without a deal for the 2026 NRL season.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old is among four Knights players currently off-contract for next year, joining teammates Jackson Hastings, Mason Teague, and Paul Bryan in awaiting new deals.<\/p>\n

Since joining Newcastle in 2023, Elliott has been a cornerstone of the Knights\u2019 forward pack, making 48 appearances in the red and blue and crossing for four tries during his time with the club.<\/p>\n

However, his 2025 campaign was marred by injury, with a biceps tear in Round 12 cutting his season short after just seven appearances. He\u2019s expected to make his return next week.<\/p>\n

Despite the injury blow and being in the latter stages of his career, Elliott\u2019s experience, toughness, and leadership continue to make him a sought-after figure, with several clubs reportedly keeping a close eye on his next move.<\/p>\n

According to News Corp, both the St George Illawarra Dragons and Wests Tigers have reportedly been \u201casked to consider\u201d the off-contract forward as he weighs up his options for the 2026 NRL season.<\/p>\n

The speculation comes after the two-time Indigenous All Stars representative had previously attracted interest from the South Sydney Rabbitohs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“It is obviously very frustrating with me being injured,” Elliott told The Newcastle Herald in May, speaking on his playing future.<\/p>\n

“I want to get back and get some consistent footy under my belt. I’m sure something will come to the forefront in the coming months.<\/p>\n
