Derek Moneyberg, real name Dale Buczkowski, bills himself as a \u201cMentor For Investing, Real-Estate & Business\u201d on his Instagram profile<\/a> and offers a \u201cwealth foundations course\u201d titled \u201cThe Ten Commandments of Wealth\u201d on his official website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s that got to do with combat sports?<\/p>\n

Strickland accused Moneyberg of predatory \u201cfinancial scams.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis man takes advantage of low-paid UFC fighters, who are great men who are just trying to make their mortgage and live a life,\u201d Strickland said in a recent social media video. \u201cHe takes advantage of these men and he uses their platform to peddle financial scams and he sues people. And what he does is so dishonest and so scummy. You are a fraud. You are dishonest. You fraud people. This is why you don\u2019t want to be on camera because you know everything I say is true.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moneyberg later told Ariel Helwani<\/a> that he\u2019s filing a lawsuit against Strickland for \u201cnew\u201d and \u201crepeat\u201d lies.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m suing him,\u201d Moneyberg said. \u201cI\u2019ll let my attorneys deal with that, but it looks like I\u2019m going to have to sue him. He\u2019s said a lot of very nasty things that are false, that hurt my reputation and hurt my brand, and I don\u2019t like that. I asked him to his face before this if he\u2019d like to do [a grappling] match, and then he continued to say more false things, repeat lies and create new lies. I wish it wasn\u2019t that way. I respect him. I think he\u2019s a very talented fighter, and I have very good relationships with many other people around him. So I don\u2019t know why he made that decision, but that\u2019s the decision he\u2019s made.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSean\u2019s been served legal papers, and I don\u2019t need to go into all the details of it in a public thing,\u201d Moneyberg told Cageside Press<\/a> in a follow-up interview. \u201cHe hasn\u2019t reached out. If you really believe the sh*t that you\u2019re saying, we\u2019ll do a public match together. If my black belt is bullsh*t, it should be easy for him to tap me in five minutes, wouldn\u2019t it? He\u2019s never said \u2018yes\u2019 to that. He says, \u2018sign the waiver and come through.\u2019 He\u2019s challenging me to an MMA fight at his gym. That wasn\u2019t my intention. I wasn\u2019t challenging him to a fight. I was inviting him to come see me. I said, respectfully, come to the gym tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n
