Justin Hartley<\/a> is back for Tracker season 3 as Colter Shaw, the survivalist who struggles with his dark family history when he’s not tracking down bad guys.\n<\/p>\n Lest we forget, season 2 ended with Colter learning that his father’s mysterious death came not at the hand of his brother Russell (Jensen Ackles<\/a>), as he’d long been led to believe. Instead, it turns out his mother, Mary (Wendy Crewson), had a hand in it. How much of a hand? Well, that’s something for new episodes to explore.\n<\/p>\n “Following last season\u2019s explosive finale, Colter is wrestling with hard truths about his family\u2019s history,” reads a season 3 synopsis. “In the wake of these shocking revelations, and aided by his trusted team, Colter must put the past in the rearview to focus on what he does best: using his instincts and survival skills to find the missing and collect rewards.”\n<\/p>\n He’ll need to do so, however, without the help of his old team. Earlier this year, it was revealed that cast members Abby McEnany and Eric Graise would not return for season 3 as handler Velma and tech wizard Bobby, respectively. Following the departure of Robin Weigert’s Teddi following season 1, that leaves only Hartley and Fiona Rene, who plays attorney Reenie Greene, from Colter’s original stable.\n<\/p>\n Don’t worry too much about our hero, though. He’ll have plenty of help along the way. Green Arrow.\n<\/p>\n Hartley leads Tracker as Colter Shaw, a survivalist with a dark past. Speaking with Deadline<\/a>, Hartley said season 3 will chronicle Colter’s “journey to find an inner peace with his family.”\n<\/p>\n He continued, “It\u2019s been years, and he\u2019s been misled and misdirected in terms of who\u2019s responsible for his father\u2019s death and how crazy his father really was. What he was into, if there\u2019s a government conspiracy and all that kind of stuff. He’s remained prolific in the years since, memorably appearing on Amazon Prime’s superhero satire The Boys as Soldier Boy (2022\u2013present), a role he’ll also play on the upcoming prequel Vought Rising.\n<\/p>\n Ackles has been a routine presence on Tracker as Russell Shaw, Colter’s brother and the man he long suspected of killing their father. Season 3 begins with a long-awaited heart-to-heart between the siblings.\n<\/p>\n “Russell being older, he has a different, probably darker memory of it that was shielded from Colter, if you remember, because Russell disappeared and Colter stayed back with his mother,” showrunner Elwood Reid explained to TV Insider<\/a> ahead of season 3.\n<\/p>\n Russell’s presence in season 3 “opens up a deeper mystery,” per Reid.<\/p>\n Fiona Rene as Reenie Greene <\/p>\n Fiona Rene as Reenie Greene in ‘Tracker’ season 3.<\/p>\n Sergei Bachlakov\/CBS<\/p>\n Prior to joining Tracker, Fiona Rene starred on Amazon Prime’s I Know What You Did Last Summer (2021), Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer (2022\u20132024), and CBS’s Fire Country (2022\u20132023).\n<\/p>\n Since its debut, Rene has starred on Tracker as Reenie Greene, an attorney whose legal know-how comes in handy as Colter busts bad guys.<\/p>\n “She went through a lot there at the end of season 2 with her boyfriend and the kidnapping and all that stuff, so she\u2019s got to deal with all that trauma,” Hartley told Deadline about Reenie’s journey in season 3. “I think we\u2019ll find that Colter starts sensing there might be something up with her, a little bit, in terms of how she\u2019s coping with all of that stuff that happened to her.”\n<\/p>\n Hartley continues, “He\u2019s not going to let her suffer alone. He\u2019ll be there for her in whatever way he can. Now, with Bobby having moved on, Randy will serve as Colter’s go-to tech expert.<\/p>\n \u201cRandy came in and also gave something to the show that was different. Most recently, she appeared on Amazon Prime’s adaptation of We Were Liars (2025).\n<\/p>\n Since season 1, Crewson has proven an enigmatic presence as Mary Dove, Colter and Russell’s mother. At the end of season 2, viewers learned that for years she’d been misleading Colter about the circumstances surrounding his father’s death.\n<\/p>\n “He knows that his mom has been lying to him, but the question is why and not just stone-cold murder,” Reid told TV Insider. “Where I think it ends up, as you\u2019ll see, is that they become closer, but then another central mystery arises. Not just the bombshell we got, but the why of it all, and that\u2019s something that we\u2019re going to carry through the season a little bit.”\n<\/p>\n Sofia Pernas as Billie <\/p>\n Sofia Pernas as Billie Matalon on ‘Tracker’.<\/p>\n Sergei Bachlakov\/CBS<\/p>\n Sofia Pernas previously appeared on series like The Brave (2017\u20132018) and Blood & Treasure (2019\u20132022), as well as Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024).\n<\/p>\n After her guest spots in seasons 1 and 2, Pernas, Hartley’s real-life wife, will return in season 3 as Billie Matalon, a fellow tracker who occasionally assists Colter with his jobs.<\/p>\n “Yeah, she\u2019ll be back,” Hartley told Deadline. “She comes back in a big way. She also appeared with Hartley on several seasons of This Is Us (2019\u20132022) as Cassidy Sharp, an ex-soldier his character meets in rehab.\n<\/p>\n Morrison’s Lizzy, who appeared in the first two seasons, is an old friend of Colter’s. As Reid told Us Weekly<\/a> following season 2, she’ll become intertwined with Colter’s search for answers about his father’s death.\n<\/p>\n \u201cThat story will be far more complicated than you\u2019re led to believe at the end of the season,\u201d he said. \u201cHis brother Russell\u00a0has some of the answers to that question.
