Fundamental investors are now using artificial intelligence to try to do more with less (and lower budgets). Quantitative traders are putting maths around gut feel fundamental factors, such as cultural and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) scores, and feeding them into their quality\/value\/momentum frameworks.<\/p>\n<p>The result is a blending of the two paradigms. The age-old human versus machine debate, with human-heavy fundamental investors backing instinct and their own cash flow forecasts to outdo data-heavy and power-hungry quant models, is fading.
