After winning the Veneto Classic, Uno-X Mobility celebrated in style. The Norwegian team has secured a place in the WorldTour, finally making their dream come true. This opens up new opportunities, including on the transfer market. The team itself is hinting at a huge Danish surprise, and Norway is going crazy.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian team started in 2010 as Team Ringeriks-Kraft at the continental level, but with new sponsor Uno-X, a new path was taken. In 2020, the team officially became a professional team, and in 2026, the team will reach the highest level of cycling, the WorldTour. And that with only Norwegian and Danish riders.<\/p>\n

General manager Thor Hushovd is exceptionally proud that Uno-X Mobility has achieved so much success in this way. However, it limits their market presence. \u201cThe road will of course be much longer because we have chosen that identity,\u201d he tells NRK<\/a>. “We have far fewer riders to recruit, and we compete with teams with much higher budgets who sign whoever they want”<\/p>\n

But by reaching the WorldTour, the team has taken a giant step forward. Suddenly, the team becomes much more attractive to riders, including Norwegians and Danes who cycle at the highest level. Hushovd hints at a huge surprise. \u201cNow the big Danish stars \u2013 and I mean really big stars \u2013 want to come here without mentioning names. I’ll say it between the lines, but I’ll leave it at that,\u201d he laughs.<\/p>\n

It was precisely those Danes who were reluctant to join Uno-X in the past. The Norwegians were always enthusiastic about the project, but Denmark consistently expressed a note of caution. \u201cIn the two years I’ve been with the team, I’ve found it difficult to sign Danes. But now there’s a completely different tone emerging.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kaggestad also sees that many doors are now opening for Uno-X Mobility, but he does advocate some caution. \u201cIt’s all about money,\u201d says the Norwegian. \u201cThose guys cost up to 50 million kroner a year and take up a large part of the budget.
