Tesla was lower as investors awaited its third-quarter results after the closing bell.<\/p>\n<p>Apple paced losses among the megacaps, paring some of the week\u2019s earlier advance after AT&amp;T\u2019s chief executive said while demand for the latest iPhone was \u201cstrong\u201d, it was not record-breaking.<\/p>\n<p>The tech sector also was hit by a Reuters report that the Trump administration is considering a plan to curb a dizzying array of software-powered exports to China.<\/p>\n<p>Netflix plunged 10 per cent, its biggest intraday drop in more than three years, after it reported a tax dispute with Brazil had cut into its third-quarter earnings.
