{"id":233132,"date":"2025-10-22T18:47:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T18:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/233132\/"},"modified":"2025-10-22T18:47:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T18:47:12","slug":"colorado-eyes-d-backs-amiel-sawdaye","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/233132\/","title":{"rendered":"Colorado eyes D-backs&#8217; Amiel Sawdaye"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Arizona Diamondbacks assistant general manager Amiel Sawdaye is among the known finalists as the Colorado Rockies near the end to their general manager search, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6740361\/2025\/10\/22\/rockies-gm-finalists-amiel-sawdaye-matt-forman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">reports The Athletic\u2019s Brittany Ghiroli and Ken Rosenthal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Cleveland Guardians assistant general manager Matt Forman is another finalist, while others could still be in the mix. Kansas City\u2019s Scott Sharp and Toronto\u2019s James Click did not make the cut, according to The Athletic.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado fired general manager Bill Schmidt on Oct. 1 after the Rockies went 43-119 this season, just two wins better than the worst season ever for an 162-game schedule (2024 White Sox).<\/p>\n<p>Sawdaye joined the D-backs under GM Mike Hazen in 2017 and was a top lieutenant along with former assistant GM Jared Porter before Porter became the New York Mets\u2019 general manager in 2020.
