Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall is set to make his first title defense<\/a> as undisputed champion against former interim titleholder Ciryl Gane in UFC 321<\/a>\u2019s main event this weekend (Sat., Oct. 25, 2025) inside Etihad Arena on \u201cFight Island<\/a>\u201d in Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n If Aspinall can get past Gane, the British champion could be in for a long reign<\/a> \u2014 and a lot of money \u2014 because, according to former Heavyweight king Daniel Cormier, the division is absolutely weak.<\/p>\n During Aspinall\u2019s media day obligations<\/a> today (Weds., Oct. 22, 2025), \u201cDC\u201d sat down with the champ for an interview. After wrapping up, Cormier pulled Aspinall aside to secretly whisper some thoughts. What he didn\u2019t realize, however, was that Aspinall was still mic\u2019d up \u2026 and captured everything on video \u2014 which he later published on his YouTube channel.<\/p>\n \u201cThese matchups in this division, like, do you know what type of f\u2014king run you can go on? It would be crazy,\u201d Cormier said. \u201cYou can like change your life. Because I mean, what is it? Jailton Almeida is fighting [Volkov]. Jailton can\u2019t fight. [Even if Volkov wins], you beat him in the first round<\/a>. It could get f\u2014king crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBro, you\u2019re on the verge of some crazy shit. Keep working hard, though. You gotta keep working hard,\u201d Cormier added. \u201cThings like this don\u2019t come around very often. Right? It\u2019s like when I got to fight Volkan [Oezdemir]. I had to defend the belt against Volkan Oezdemir one time, man. Did I win the lottery, son? They were like, \u2018Hey, we think we can get you to fight Volkan.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Yes!
