Gold Coast Titans captain Tino Fa\u2019asuamaleaui has confirmed that he will hit the open market on November 1 and potentially find a new home for 2027.<\/p>\n
The 25-year-old is contracted to $1.1 million until the end of 2033 but the Australia and Queensland representative has decided to exercise his player option and explore free agency.<\/p>\n
Fa\u2019asuamaleaui has not indicated whether he will leave the Titans but SEN\u2019s Andrew Voss believes the Gold Coast skipper is all but out the door.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you see a player say they are going to test the market, does that not immediately say \u2018I don\u2019t want to stay where I am?\u2019,\u201d Voss said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.<\/p>\n
\u201cIs that not the first conclusion you jump to if you\u2019re a fan?<\/p>\n
\u201cThey are clearly leaning towards the fact that they don\u2019t want to stay.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a 10-year deal and he\u2019s captain of the club. I\u2019m not bagging Tino because if there\u2019s a clause in his contract that allows him to do this, then go ahead.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe signs are that he\u2019s gone. If I\u2019m a Titans, you\u2019re thinking that he\u2019s gone and out the door.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s sad because he\u2019s absolutely the marquee man.\u201d<\/p>\n
Since joining the Titans from the Melbourne Storm in 2021, Fa\u2019asuamaleaui has played a total of 84 games with a 31% winning record.<\/p>\n
The club has made finals once in this span and hasn\u2019t exceeded more than 10 wins in his five seasons at the club.<\/p>\n
SEN\u2019s Greg Alexander believes it\u2019s clear that Fa\u2019asuamaleaui is fed up with the lack of success at the Titans.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Titans put their heart and soul into signing him and built the team around him,\u201d Alexander added.<\/p>\n
Voss said: \u201cIt can\u2019t be about money because the Titans are paying him a fortune<\/p>\n
\u201cSo why does he want to go out?\u201d<\/p>\n
Alexander replied: \u201cHe wants out because the Titans have stunk it up for the past few years.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe said in a statement that his heart is with the Titans but.<\/p>\n
