the first an early tip-off at Turn 2 and then a trip deep through the gravel when the downpour started.

A handful of riders got their wet-shod bikes prepared in time to get some exploratory mileage in the final few minutes, but that was a fraught experience as standing water was already developing – with Fabio Quartararo, Australian GP winner Raul Fernandez and Brad Binder all visiting the run-off area at Turn 12 where a particularly vicious puddle had developed on the corner entry.

Results

1 Fermin Aldeguer (Gresini Ducati) 2m00.199s
2 Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati) +0.256s
3 Joan Mir (Honda) +0.349s
4 Pol Espargaro (Tech3 KTM) +0.382s
5 Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) +0.392s
6 Luca Marini (Honda) +0.403s
7 Alex Marquez (Gresini Ducati) +0.521s
8 Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) +0.534s
9 Jack Miller (Pramac Yamaha) +0.607s
10 Pedro Acosta (KTM) +0.664s
11 Franco Morbidelli (VR46 Ducati) +0.964s
12 Brad Binder (KTM) +1.062s
13 Ai Ogura (Trackhouse Aprilia) +1.076s
14 Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) +1.114s
15 Enea Bastianini (Tech3 KTM) +1.139s
16 Miguel Oliveira (Pramac Yamaha) +1.200s
17 Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46 Ducati) +1.266s
18 Alex Rins (Yamaha) +1.380s
19 Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse Aprilia) +1.558s
20 Michele Pirro (Ducati) +2.197s
21 Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia) +2.639s
22 Augusto Fernandez (Yamaha) +2.753s
23 Somkiat Chantra (LCR Honda) +2.786s

A sudden downpour with 14 minutes of opening Malaysian Grand Prix MotoGP practice still to run meant an…

[572
64,63,806,805,803,804,85
0":"post-236847","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-motosport","8":"tag-au","9":"tag-australia","10":"tag-motor","11":"tag-motor-sports","12":"tag-motosport","13":"tag-motosports","14":"tag-sports
["GET
